Ash, inverted. Before water, trees were a favourite of mine and I spent many a happy hour slowly exploring and isolating woodland details. I guess this image combines the two, and again reminds me to remain open to the possibilities of the day. Last summer, on a walk up Dove Dale the water levels failed to match the drama of a previous occasion. But in the quiet cool shade below Gypsy Bank, I found that the ash along the banks had painted the river’s surface after their own image.
